Nokia Lumia 820

Price varies

One of Nokia's newest generation of Windows Phones, the Lumia 820, has some features that make it stand out from the crowd of Windows 8 handsets. Unlike some other models, you can add external storage - up to 32GB with a microSD card - which expands its 8GB internal storage considerably. And the screen has been designed to be super sensitive, so you can use it properly even with gloves. It's got some good optional extras too, including the wireless charger. It comes in a few different colours too so you can pick something that really stands out from the bland.

Sony Vaio Duo 11

€1,098.99

The trend for touch screens is inescapable - even your average laptop is getting in on the act. The Sony Vaio Duo 11, however, is not your average laptop. Although it comes with a Core i7 or i5 processor, it also has a touch screen, making it more suited to Windows 8. A keyboard slides out from underneath the screen, which means this is slightly weightier and thicker than your average tablet, but you also get all the connections you need, such as USB ports, VGA output and HDMI.

Caliber Axiom

Headphones €79.99

The Caliber Axiom headphones have multitasking down to a fine art. Not only will the cans work with your PC, they will also connect to your Xbox or PS3 console. They're comfortable enough to wear for hour at a time - essential if you're putting in a particularly heavy gaming session - and there are inline controls included. Sound is pretty decent- you can crank the volume up to ear bleeding levels and it won't come off as tinny. The microphone is detachable too, so it doesn't get in the way when you don't need it.
