Here in Ireland there aren't many alternatives to Netflix when it comes to streaming movies and television shows. While this isn't really a big deal (Netflix gave us Breaking Bad and House of Cards!) it's nice to have options. Amazon. co.uk has
absorbed British streaming service Lovefilm, which has now become Amazon Prime Instant Video.
Prime subscribers will
get this for free or you can sign up for the all-in-one package. It debuts with exclusive series Alpha House (above) starring John Goodman.

WhatsUp with Telegram?
Following the acquisition of WhatsApp late last week everyone seems to be jumping on the "jumping off the Facebook bandwagon" bandwagon. If you too are uncomfortable with Facebook handling your social networking, image sharing (Instagram) and personal messaging (WhatsApp)
then try Telegram. It works like WhatsApp but has a prettier interface, messages are encrypted and private mode sets messages to expire after a certain amount of time.

The Lady in Number 6
Earlier this week the oldest survivor of the Holocaust, Alice Herz-Sommer, died, aged 110. Before her death she was the subject of an Oscar nominated short documentary based on her life as a pianist and her time in the Theresienstadt concentration camp in the Czech republic. The Lady in Number 6 shows how her passion for music and positive outlook got her through tough times as she declared "Every day, life is beautiful [ . . . ]I am full of joy." The documentary is available to watch online now. Go see it.
