Here’s your chance to fight the bad guys and drive the Bat-Pod. There are story-based missions related to the film’s plot but also side quests and opportunities to explore a vast, gloomy Gotham so you’ll be dealing with hostage situations, bomb squads, jailbreaks along the way. And it wouldn’t be Batman without plenty of tools, including the Grapnel and Batarang, natch. It is €5.49 from the App Store.

Happiest Olympic worker is game for a laugh

This lady has gone viral on YouTube; she is a London Olympics 2012 worker who uses a particularly dry sense of humour to engage with the passersby who start out apathetic and end up shaking with laughter towards the end. If we could get someone with this enthusiasm to make the announcements on Irish Rail it would almost make up for misery of commuter crowds. This video has already clocked over one million views in the past few days, a truly Olympian feat!

Android skin

We may not have androids like Star Trek’s Data just yet, but this research is another step towards the humanoid robots of the future. Engineers at Seoul National University have developed electronic sensors with the sensitivity to touch of human skin. It also has applications in the use of heart monitors or material that can detect pulse on the surface of your skin, like a robotic doctor or nurse. The artificial skin was tested by monitoring the steps of two ladybirds wandering about on the surface.
