Facebook paper

Facebook celebrates its tenth birthday this week and what better way to show you're all grown up than taking paper and literally turning it into a brand. Facebook Paper is a standalone iOS app that is a direct competitor to magazine-style news sharing service Flipboard. It launches with curated sections on photography, sports, food, science etc. and you can customise your own Paper experience. So no more endlessly scrolling through your timeline when you can categorise and discover content more relevant to you.

Simply type in your band of choice and it will spit out the definitive song plus a b-side if you find the choice a bit too obvious.

Get productive with Pomodoro Timer
The Pomodoro Technique, if you haven't heard of it, is a way of working in short bursts (usually 25 minutes) followed by a shorter break of five minutes on the basis that this increases your mental agility. Whether it does or not, it certainly improves the odds of a productive day through the temptation of small, frequent breaks. There are plenty of apps out there that do the trick but this iPhone one is well designed, stylish and tracks your workflow. Clockwork Tomato for Android is also pretty decent.
