Revenue and profit at mobile content provider Zamano rose last year, accounts for the company showed.
In the 12 months to December 31st 2014, revenue rose almost 24 per cent to €19.86 million, while pretax profit was €2.17 million, an increase of 13.5 per cent.
The company also recorded an improvement in its net cash during the year, rising to €4.6 million at the end of last year, compared with €2.14 million in 2013.
“The strong operating performance of the group during 2014 translated into a consistent improvement in Zamano’s net cash position,” chairman John Rockett said.
“After another highly satisfactory outcome in 2014, the group intends to remain focused on maintaining its core business, while at the same time, looking for acquisition opportunities to enable it to strategically re-align the group.”
Zamano’s principle business activity continued to be concentrated in the UK and Ireland during the year, and business in the UK rose significantly in the the second half of the year.
Revenues rose more than 56 per cent to €15.175 million for the year, in a market that comprised web and mobile entertainment products, and business-to-business services.
The Irish market performed less robustly. Sales fell by 132 per cent in 2014 compared with a year earlier, at €4.13 million. However, the company noted that the decline in sales seen the previous year was 42.6 per cent, indicating that the decline had slowed in the past year.
Market conditions in Eastern Europe saw the firm end its customer acquisition in the area, but the company said improved sales in Australia helped balance this fall-off in activity.
