Mr Jack Crowley, a chartered accountant with Crowleys-DFK, will take over as chair of the Tax Administration Liaison Committee (TALC) for 1999.

The committee is made up of representatives of the Revenue Commissioners, accountancy practitioners and the legal profession and acts as a forum for exchanging views on the administration of the taxation system.

Mr Crowley said he expected the administrative difficulties associated with the wish of the Minister for Finance to move to a calendar tax year to feature on TALC's agenda in the year ahead.
