Tuskar Resources has announced a better-than-expected flow rate of 6,900 barrels per day (b.p.d.) from its OBE 5 oil well off Nigeria. Output is due to begin in January.
The OBE field came on stream last December with the OBE 4 well, which flows at 3,000 b.p.d. The rate from the two wells depends on the Nigerian government, but Tuskar said it should be at least 7,000 b.p.d.
The company said it would now focus on the potentially billion-plus barrel OML 110 site.
