MORE than 100 new jobs are being created in Northern Ireland by Abbey National, Prudential and British Telecom to develop services for customers throughout the UK. The 110 "back office" jobs result from investments of £1.3 million sterling with backing from the Industrial Development Board, it was announced yesterday.
Abbey National is investing £302,000 in the development of a tele banking call centre for UK customers which would provide 38 new jobs in addition to the existing 26.
Prudential is spending £322,000 to enlarge its retail payments' centre to process claims from customers with life policies, providing 22 new jobs; and BT is expanding its software engineering centre, creating 50 jobs in a £649,000 investment.
