Ulster's mobile phone banking

The electronic banking revolution is evolving faster than anyone envisaged

The electronic banking revolution is evolving faster than anyone envisaged. Ulster Bank has just announced the introduction of mobile phone banking from April. The service will allow customers to call up their account balance and make daily transactions on a mobile phone. Mobile phone banking may be accessed through a wireless application protocol-enabled (WAP) phone by customers. This is the latest mobile phone incarnation and it allows access to the Internet.

Customers will gain access to the service by keying in a PIN and registration number assigned by the bank. Eventually customers will also be able to pay bills and move money between various accounts using their WAP mobile phones. Ulster Bank is the first to introduce such a service to customers. The service will be free of charge and is an extension of Ulster Bank's Internet banking facilities.
