The union representing some workers at the Kylemore Bakery in Finglas will press for a substantial improvement in the redundancy payments offered to the 317 people who will lose their jobs in a month.

Kylemore has offered the bakery and shop employees three times their statutory redundancy entitlement, which will be 1-1/2 weeks' pay per year of service for those between 16 and 41, and three weeks per year for those over 41. Bakery and Food Workers Amalgamated Union regional organiser Mr John Martin said Kylemore shop stewards would meet tomorrow before Friday's meeting with management.
