Broadcast product and service provider Viscom yesterday announced that it had merged with Internet solution provider Digital Innovation to form a company to be called Videsti.
The company says its aim is to become one of the leading providers of software, hardware and consultancy services to the new media and broadband market.
The biggest shareholders in the company will be Mr Dermot Desmond, through his investment vehicle IIU, and Videsti's management team.
Videsti says it is developing a range of authouring tools to create interactive content for digital platforms and set-top boxes for the transmission of digital TV using wireless technology. It says it is also putting the finishing touches to a newsroom product that enables newscasters to compile complete new bulletins, including video clips, live inserts and captions.
