The surplus of exports over imports has continued to grow pointing to a still rapidly expanding economy, according to the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office. The figures showed there was a surplus of £416 million on the current account in the first six months of 1998, compared to deficit of £129 million in the same period in 1997.
