Investment options ranging from shares to property and furniture were displayed to potential investors at the three-day Money 2000 fair which ended at Dublin's RDS yesterday.

Williams and Gibson furniture, Killarney Wood furniture, and dainty tables and other pieces by makers like Strachan are selling particularly well, a seminar on antiques at the show was told. Edwardian furniture is also a good bet.

In the main show, financial services and pension companies did well. Ms Karen Egan, of Goodbody Stockbrokers, said the main focus of interest was Internet trading and the type of services provided by the company. "We don't exclude anybody from shareholding. The minimum investment is about £200," she said. "The whole share dealing looks very sexy. It appeals to a lot of people."

Ms Maureen Meehan, of Sunshine Villas Europe, reported a good reaction to her company's properties. "Friday and Saturday was more investors. Today, family people are looking at holiday homes. It's been worthwhile coming here," she said.

Mr Larry Gorman, of MASA International, which sells properties on the Costa Blanca, said there had been some serious inquiries but that the level was below what he had anticipated.
