Stocks moved broadly lower yesterday amid growing concerns over the outlook for US corporate earnings, a slumping euro, and surging oil prices.
The Nasdaq slumped 77.73 points (1.99 per cent) to 3,836.13 at the closing bell and the Dow Jones industrials tumbled 152.70 points (1.37 per cent) to 10,934.77.
The Standard and Poor's 500 shed 15.03 points (1.01 per cent) to 1,465.84.
On the bond market, the yield on the 10-year Treasury bond rose to 5.883 per cent from 5.774 per cent on Thursday and on the 30-year bond to 5.895 per cent against 5.805.
