A personal trainer on your smartphone
There certainly isn't a lack of sports and training related apps for smartphones but Adidas has just released what it claims to be the first first sports specific work-out app which covers football, running, rugby, tennis and basketball. MiCoach, which provides GPS pace-triggered voice coaching and input from stars like Jonny Wilkinson and Andy Murray, is available for iPhones and BlackBerrys. facebook.com/adidasrunning

Your new iPhone 4.0
The US Library of Congress recently ruling that iPhone owners could legally "jailbreak" their phones, ie enable it to install software not approved by Apple. Although the iPhone 4.0 only hit Irish shops last week, it can now be jailbroken simply by visiting JailbreakMe.com in your iPhone's Safari web browser.
Although thousands of users have done this successfully, back up to iTunes before attempting it and be aware it may invalidate your warranty.

UPLOAD: Your 15 minutes of fame to YouTube
The rapid growth of the Google-owned video-sharing website YouTube has been phenomenal since it launched five years ago, but many users have been frustrated by its limiting of videos to a maximum of 10 minutes.

Time to get creative.

VIEW: Your Twitter flock as a word cloud
TwitterSheep is a fun and free web application that creates a word cloud from the bios of your followers of YouTube. It is a graphic way of getting a snapshot of the kind of people who find your Twitter posts interesting.
FYI, a word cloud is one of those graphics which increases the font size of a word based on the number of times it occurs in a text.
