British Airways expects to operate a full flight programme today and tomorrow following the calling off of the threatened cabin crew strike yesterday.

The airline had planned to cancel 1,300 flights affecting around 120,000 passengers if the strike had gone ahead.

"If customers still wish to travel on any reinstated British Airways service on Tuesday, January 30th or Wednesday, January 31st, they must contact British Airways or their respective travel agent as soon as possible to have their travel arrangements confirmed," British Airways said in a statement last night.

It advised customers who did not have a confirmed booking, or who had not been rebooked, not to come to Heathrow airport without first calling the airline.

However, many passengers are expected to have already made alternative arrangements.

The airline said that some services at Heathrow may not have a full catering service onboard today due to the late reinstatement of the flight schedule.

"Any affected customers on those flights which do not have full catering will be offered vouchers to spend in the airport," it said.
