THE year has started very well for Irish Continental Group, its chairman, Mr Tom Toner, told shareholders at its annual meeting yesterday.

Mr Toner dismissed talk that the company may bring back the Pride of Bilboo to its Irish routes. That boat is currently leased by P&O ferries and the options do not run out until 2002.
