q

The Irish Times has teamed up with Fire Master John Relihan and his team at Pitt Bros BBQ Restaurant to offer you and three friends the ultimate BBQ experience this summer.

After hosting a crowd-pleasing pop-up restaurant at All Together Now Festival in Waterford, John Relihan and the Pitt Bros team are on the way back to the capital for Dublin’s Big Grill Festival and they have a VIP prize for you and three friends to join them. Taking place from 11th to 14th August, The Big Grill Festival will play host to four days of fire, food and fun in Herbert Park and the Pitt Bros team will be there every day serving up a delicious selection of BBQ dishes using premium Irish meats, cooked over custom built smokers and enhanced with a unique blend of dry rubs, mops and marinades. All Pitt Bros sauces and pickling is also created and done in-house daily too – no compromises. As well as receiving tickets to The Big Grill Festival for you and three lucky friends, you’ll meet with Ireland’s most experienced BBQ fire master John Relihan and enjoy a variety of dishes from the sizzling Pitt Bros grill including Pitt smoked baby back ribs in sticky BBQ sauce with chipotle slaw, chilli and coriander and the Pitt Bros Bacon Seduction - the restaurant’s prime Irish beef burger with Irish cheddar, the soon to be released (and incredible) Pitt Bros Bacon Jam and homemade caramelised onion relish.

Pitt Bros on Dublin’s South Great George’s Street has been serving slow-cooked, authentic Deep South American-style BBQ since 2013, focusing fully on flavour, quality and simplicity. This summer Kerry born international chef John Relihan joined the Pitt Bros team and has brought his BBQ credentials to Dublin for the very first time. Having worked and collaborated with some of the world’s most high profile BBQ chefs including Chris Cosentino in San Francisco, Fergus Henderson and Adam Perry Lang, John’s career has also included a six year collaboration with Jamie Oliver at the helm of his BBQ smokehouse restaurant Barbecoa, which became London’s finest advocate of cooking low and slow over many different fire methods. Always pushing boundaries, exploring new cultures and building relationships via food don’t forget to use The Big Grill Festival as your big opportunity to bring all those burning BBQ questions to John Relihan and pick up some top tips from the man himself on becoming an expert in all things fire too!

If you aren’t lucky enough to win this week’s BBQ Experience, you can still catch John Relihan and The Pitt Bros team every day at The Big Grill Festival from 11th to 14th August where the beats will be rocking and the BBQ on fire! This month will also see the introduction of a new retail range of Pitt Bros sauces, rubs and a unique new bacon jam too so keep your eyes peeled at The Big Grill Festival for an exclusive first look of those delicious new launches.
