Greenes Restaurant on MacCurtain Street in Cork has reopened with a brand new image and a reinvented menu to match. Think plush green velvet booth-style seating, brass chairs with dark leather coverings and marble table tops, opulent lamp shades and dark walls, complemented by statement lighting and lush cascading plants.
The new look is complemented by a contemporary Irish food style menu which celebrates locally sourced ingredients and producer-led dishes. Diners can expect classic dishes like Beef and Beamish Stout Stew, English Market Chicken Supreme, and Quigley’s Lamb Shank served with traditional colcannon. Starters include Glenmar Scallops and Jack McCarthy’s Cork Spiced Beef. Greenes’ new menu also offers ‘Steak On The Stone’ with three types of cuts that are seared and served on sizzling hot lava stone to cook to the diners’ liking.
Greenes is conveniently located right beside Hotel Isaacs in Cork’s Victorian Quarter, just five minutes walk from Kent Train Station. In a building that dates back to the late 1800s, each room at Hotel Isaacs is unique, paying homage to the original character of the historic building with details like open beams in the ceiling or quaint views of Cork City.
Greenes Restaurant, 48 MacCurtain Street, Cork, is open Tuesday to Friday 4 pm to 9:30 pm, Saturdays 3 pm to 10 pm and Bank Holidays Sundays.
This competition is now closed.
