A man has been arrested after three men were stabbed in a series of apparently random attacks on Sunday afternoon in Dublin’s Stoneybatter area.
One of the victims was reportedly attacked in their doorway after returning home.
The three men have been taken to hospital for treatment. Two of the men are being treated for serious but not life-threatening injuries, while one man has less serious injuries.
A number of scenes are currently being preserved for technical examination in the Stoneybatter area.

It is understood the suspect stabbed the victims using regular household implements.

Local residents were told to go indoors shortly before 3pm on Sunday after emergency services were called to Oxmantown Road and Niall Street in Dublin 7 following a reported stabbing in the area.
A suspect was subsequently apprehended nearby on Manor Place after a Garda search. It is understood he had his face covered when gardaí arrested him.
In a statement, gardaí confirmed a man has been arrested in relation to the incident. “There is no ongoing risk to the public at this time,” the statement said.
Garda sources rejected suggestions that another suspect may still be at large.
It is believed the stabbings happened across three Dublin 7 locations on the North Circular Road, Oxmantown Road and Carnew Street.

Gardaí are going door-to-door to interview residents and get access to doorbell or mobile phone footage of the attacks.
A local resident said she witnessed the arrest on Manor Street. “I saw a lot of Garda cars arrive really fast. They all jumped out at exactly the same time. I saw a guy running and they dived on him outside a house.

“He just screamed and screamed and screamed ‘leave me alone.’ He was terrified, like someone who wasn’t expecting that to happen. And then it all stopped.”
Local TD Mary Lou McDonald of Sinn Féin said the community was “in a state of shock”.
