A 22-year-old man has been remanded in custody, charged with assault causing harm to a 24-year-old woman in an incident in Newbridge, Kildare, on the night of December 3rd.
At Naas District Court, Judge Des Zaidan denied bail to Cian Leavy of Caragh Village, Naas, following an alleged assault on Dawn Hamill (24) from Newbridge.
The judge said the injured party was “totally unrecognisable and 10 days later is still on life support”. The exact extent of her injuries is not yet fully known due to swelling on her brain, her face and her body, the court heard.
Ms Hamill was found unresponsive on December 4th at about 8.30am at St Conleth’s car park.
