A 28-year-old man has been remanded on bail after he was charged by gardaí as part of their investigation into a €185,000 drugs seizure in Cork at the weekend.
Gardaí from the Cork City Divisional Drugs Unit recovered €150,000 worth of suspected ecstasy tablets and €35,000 worth of cocaine when they searched a premises in Cork on Saturday.
On Monday, Today Jonathan Dennehy of Market Gardens, Togher, Co Cork, was brought before a special sitting of Mallow District Court where he was charged with two offences relating to the cocaine seizure.
Mr Dennehy was charged with possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine for sale and supply at Rochestown, Cork on December 21st, contrary to the Misuse of Drugs Act 1977.

Det Gda Darren Twomey of the Cork City Divisional Drugs Unit gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution and told the court that Mr Dennehy made no reply when the charge was put to him.
Insp Tony O’Sullivan said that gardaí had no objection to bail with conditions and defence solicitor, Eddie Burke confirmed his client was willing to abide by the conditions being sought.
Det Gda Twomey said that gardaí were seeking for Mr Dennehy to reside at his home address at Market Gardens in Togher and inform gardaí of any change of address.
They were also seeking him to sign on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at Togher Garda station between the hours of 9am and 9pm, Det Gda Twomey told the court.
Gardaí were also seeking that Mr Dennehy surrender his passport and undertake not to apply for any travel documents and also be contactable 24/7 via a mobile number he would give gardaí.
Judge Treasa Kelly remanded Mr Dennehy on these conditions to appear again on March 25th at Cork District Court when it is expected test results on the suspected ecstasy will be available.
A woman in her 30s who was arrested as part of the same garda investigation was released without charge on Sunday night and a file will now be prepared in relation to her for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
