Hamilton Osborne King are holding their first fine-art and furniture auction of the year on Wednesday next in their salesrooms in Blackrock, Co Dublin. A late 19th-century walnut and marquetry, inlaid threetier whatnot (£1,000£1,500), a pair of 19th-century open bookshelves (£2,000-£3,000) and a satinwood, rosewood and tulipwood fold-over-top card table (£600-£1,000) are among the interesting items for sale. Other furniture includes a number of Victorian wardrobes, a set of six Victorian chairs, bedside cabinets and dressing tables. The silver and plateware include candlesticks, flatware and salvers.
Viewing is from tomorrow and Monday from 2 p.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. Selling begins at 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Large Victorian dining table for £3,500-plus
Auctioneer, Michael Mullen of Oldcastle, Co Meath, is holding a fine-art and antiques auction in his salesrooms on Tuesday next. An exceptionally large (15ft by 5ft) Victorian mahogany extending dining table (£3,500£4,000), a Georgian mahogany slope-front writing bureau (£1,200-£1,500) and a Chippendale revival mahogany chiffionier (£1,000£1,200) are among the lots. A Victorian pine kitchen table (£300£400), a brass and iron Victorian bed(£200£500) and a Regency blue/grey marble fireplace (£800£1,200) will also be included in the auction.
Contents of Co Limerick parochial house for sale
The entire contents of the parochial house, Ballingarry, Co Limerick, go under the hammer next Friday in Ballingarry Hall. The furniture and fine art for sale was owned by the late archdeacon, Patrick Lyons, who died on January 1st at the age of 105. A Victorian extension table, Victorian dining chairs, a Victorian mahogany sideboard and a oak roll-top desk are among the interesting items. There are also a number of Victorian bookcases, a Victorian dumbwaiter, overmantels, books, paintings, clocks, glass and china among the lots. The auction begins at 7.30 p.m., with viewing on Friday from 1.30 p.m. until selling begins.

Slopefront bookcase for up to £6,000 in Swords
THE contents of Ard Drum, Church Road, Swords, Co Dublin, will be auctioned on the premises tomorrow at 2 p.m. by Town & Country auctioneers. A George III mahogany chest on chest (£1,800£2,200), a George III mahogany slopefront bureau bookcase (£4,000£6,000) and a Victorian mahogany dining table (£1,500£2,500) are among the items to be auctioned.
