THE contents of an old house in Greystones, Co Wicklow, form the principal part of an auction being conducted by Hamilton Osborne King at their sale rooms in Blackrock, Dublin, next Wednesday, beginning at 2.30 p.m. The mahogany, circular gaming table in early 19th century style shown above carries one of the sale's top estimates at £2,000-£3,000. Its sectioned leather top, with six counter wells around a central support, make this piece likely to appeal to all games lovers.

The same estimate has also been given to a large mid 19th century mahogany framed sofa and an early 19th century inlaid mahogany slope front bureau. A mahogany and rose wood cross banded sofa table from the same period is expected to fetch about £1,500-£2,000, and both an 18th century English provincial oak and fruit wood knee hole desk and a mahogany and ebony line inlaid sideboard from around 1830 carry estimates of £1,000-£1,500.
