Booking time for summer schools is running out. Both Stage Lines and the Drama League of Ireland run theirs from August 2nd to 9th. The 7th West/North West Radio Drama Awards were announced in Sligo recently. Donalbain by Sionbhe Lally won the Best Overall Play award. Donegal Drama Circle had already won the All-Ireland One Act Finals with this work. Other awards: Best Actress, Joan King, Kiltimagh Drama Group. Best Actor, Noel Lyons, Twilight Players, Ballyhaunis. Best Director, Paul Buckley, Donegal Drama Circle. For a local commemorative piece on the Famine, Louisburgh Drama Group won the Adjudicator's Special Award and Barbara Parkinson was named the Best Amateur Playwright for her play Pillar Of Society performed by Pieces Drama Group, Kullybeg.
