THE HENNETH BAGER EXPERIENCE

Fragments From A Space Cadet  Polydor ***

Kenneth Bager has considerable form in the ambient pop game. Aside from running the prolific Music for Dreams label, the Danish musician’s own releases, productions, club nights and radio shows have kept him very much at the centre of the chill-out action. Originally released in Denmark in 2007, Fragments From A Space Cadet now gets a much wider release. Adding to the album’s sense of chill-out nirvana are the contributions from such vocalists as Julee Cruise (truly superb throughout), Camilla Munck, Gisli and the Hellerup Cool School Choir. While there are moments when Bager ups the tempo and makes out like a funky-house bandit – I Can’t Wait sticks out like a sore thumb in this regard – the bulk of Fragments... will keep heads nodding and moods perfectly aligned for quite some time. www.myspace.com/kennethbager
