Photographic exhibitions at Imma have proved popular, and this one should be no exception. Bank of America is renowned for the reach and quality of its art collections, and Conversationsdraws on its extensive holdings of photographs to document "the evolution of photography since the 1850s" and presents "some of the most notable photographers of the 19th and 20th centuries".

The title refers to a strategy of creating a series of visual “conversations” between different photographers, across time and genres. From Julia Margaret Cameron and Alfred Stieglitz via Harry Callahan and Irving Penn to Cindy Sherman and Thomas Ruff, many of the iconic names in the history of photography are represented.

Originating in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the show has been reinterpreted for Imma and curated by Mary Cremin.
