THE Irish Arts Review Yearbook continues to flourish and to publish annually - 270-odd pages of it this year, which is Volume 13. Layout, colour reproduction and presentation are as good as usual: and the contributions cover a wide range. Kathy Prendergast, a prizewinner in Venice recently, is interviewed by John McBratney; Gerry Dukes writes about Camille Souter; John Turpin considers the education of Irish artists over the years, in the light of the 250th anniversary of the NCAD; Hilary Pyle writes on Eva and Letitia Hamilton; Sinead Crofts discusses Maurice MacGonigal's West of Ireland paintings, etc.
There is also a large section of book reviews, a diary of recent art events, a record of auctions and a guide to prices. Edited by Homan Potterton and published by Anne Reihill, the Irish Arts Review Yearbook 1997 costs £35 hardback and £22.50 softback. Glen Dimplex continues to supply sponsorship.
