November 10th:
Whyte's, Marlborough Street, Dublin. Auction of stamps and postal markings including: £8,400 for collection of British Commonwealth stamps; £1,300 for used and mint collection of Belgian stamps; £1,200 for rare 1888 £1 brown stamp; £1,100 for collection of French stamps; £900 for collection of covers and cards.

House contents auction conducted by the James Adam Salerooms in conjunction with Bonhams & Brooks including: £80,000 for Farmyard with Horses Feeding by John Fredrick Herring Senior; £24,000 for Nell Gwynne at Drury Lane by William Powell Frith; £24,000 for pair of George III inlaid mahogany shaped rectangular side tables; £15,500 for George III inlaid mahogany serpentine-front sideboard; £14,500 for pair of Victorian castiron figures of seated hounds.
