Through the Streets to the Hills by Jack B. Yeats fetched the top price of £47,000 at the James Adam saleroom last Wednesday, while the next most expensive lot was a classic Paul Henry work, Cottage by a Western Lake, which achieved £32,000 under the hammer.
One of the works offered by Terry Keane, Camille Souter's The Young Bathers, sold within its estimate at £10,500.
Other notable prices were: Roderic O'Conor's Sunset over the Sea, £17,000; Patrick Collins' The Pink Cyclamen, £15,000 and Study of a nude woman on a green couch, £9,000; Maurice MacGonigal's Breaking Camp II, £13,000; Dreaming by Gerard Dillon, £13,000; Evie Hone's The Bridge Bar, £12,000; Rose Barton's Changing Guard, Dublin Castle, £8,500; and a set of 25 Malton prints, £7,500.
Mullens held a successful house contents auction at 9 Elton Park, Sandycove, Co Dublin, last Saturday, with the top selling lots being snapped up by private buyers. A Georgian Irish mahogany side-table fetched £5,500 while a pair of classical terracotta urns and covers sold for £2,400.
Other prices were: a large bronze fountain, £2,400; three bronze figures of young girls, £2,200; a mahogany serpentine corner cupboard, £2,100; a set of eight Chippendale-style dining chairs, £2,000; a mahogany bowfront linen press, £1,300; and a pair of cast-iron garden benches, £1,200.
