The National Museum starts its autumn lecture series next week to accompany its current exhibition of Irish Period Furniture at Collins Barracks. Lecturers will include restorer and conservator Pat Boyle, antiques dealer Gerry Kenyon, Megan McManus of the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum and David Griffin who will talk about 18th century Irish interior design using drawings from the Irish Architectural Archive. The lectures will take place on Thursday evenings, from September 30th to November 18th and admission is free. Next Saturday, the Georgian Society will hold a day-long symposium at Collins Barracks with talks by Desmond Fitzgerald, Claudia Kinmouth and Angela Alexander.
