A POST MORTEM examination is to be carried out today on the body of a woman found yesterday covered in black plastic bags on the shore of Carlingford Lough.

The body, of a woman believed to be in her 30s or 40s, was found by a member of the public believed to be a young girl on a picnic at Narrow Water Castle, near Warrenpoint, Co Down.

The RUC say that they are treating the death as suspicious.

It is not known whether the body was dumped where it was found, or had been washed up near the picnic site.
