If you’ve ever wondered how a committee of Swedes comes up with the winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature every year, you should get along to a public lecture taking place in Trinity College Dublin next Tuesday, March 18th.
In the lecture, marvellously entitled Galactic Enterprise of Selection & Election: the Swedish Academy and the Nobel Prize, Prof Jesper Svenbro will discuss the prize and its selection procedures. Prof Svenbro, a distinguished poet and academic, is also a member of the Swedish Academy.
The event, which is free and open to the public, has been organised by the School of Languages, Literatures and Cultural Studies. It takes place at 6pm in the Trinity Long Room Hub.
