Ray Davies is the headline act of the 2014 Dublin Writers Festival. The Kinks frontman will be in conversation with author Joseph O'Connor at the National Concert Hall on Monday, May 19th, discussing the Kinks' relationship with America, explored in his new book Americana: the Kinks, the Road and the Perfect Riff .
The festival will run for an extended nine days, running from May 17th to 25th. The full line-up will be announced at the beginning of April.
As part of their Off the Page season, the festival has also announced two preview events. Man Booker Prize-nominated Emma Donoghue will discuss her life and work including her new novel , Frog Music , at The Printworks, Dublin Castle, on March 29th. Orange-Prize-nominated author Anita Shreve will talk about her life, her work and her latest novel, The Lives of Stella Bain , in Smock Alley Theatre on April 2nd.
