The train journey between Dublin and Belfast will be enlivened from today by an innovative public art project, developed by the Dublin-based Artworking group and Bryson House in Belfast. Teams of artists, poets and story-tellers were brought together to respond to the 100-mile journey and the stops along the way. At Newry station, for instance, you will find a gouache mural interpretation of Paul Durcan's poem Windfall by a group from the Whiterock Daycare Centre, and at Drogheda station there is a sculptural relief in wood and willow by visual artist Nicola Burrell and writer, Emily Cargan, entitled Building Bridges; and at Connolly Station in Dublin, there will be a mixed media video by storyteller Liz Weir and animators Eileen Fleming and Caroline Dunne, working with groups from the Pearse Street Writers' Group and the Women's Health in Arts group in Tallaght. At Belfast Central Station, your eye may be attracted by a video by animator Anne-Marie Mullan, poet Eilis Ni Dhuibhne and sound artist Iain Mc Curdy, working with a group from Ballynafeigh.

The exhibition will be officially opened on Saturday in Dundalk, and runs until March 12th.
