A total of £60,000 (including premiums) was realised at Hamilton Osborne King's auction in Blackrock, Dublin, last Wednesday, with a still life painting by Kathleen Fox going over its top estimate of £2,000 to sell for £2,600. More impressive, was the price for a pair of late 19th century bronze urns, probably French and with an estimate of £400-600, which sold for £1,050.

A 19th century walnut davenport (estimate £800-£1,200) made £1,500. Other good prices at this sale: £1,700 for an early 20th century mahogany longcase regulator clock; £1,100 for a mid 19th century giltwood overmantel by Alexander of Dublin £850 for Georgian revival mahogany inlaid serpentine front sideboard; and £800 for both a mid 19th century rosewood framed chaise longue and an early 19th century French bronze and marble clock.
