THE pair of mahogany and gilt brass mounted chairs shown here are from a sale being conducted by Hamilton Osborne King next Tuesday at Powerstown House in Clonee, Co Meath. In the empire style from the last century, the chairs have padded scroll backs, the panelled support filled with rosette centred bands of laurel. The upholstered seats have aprons similarly decorated and the front cabriole legs have winged panther supports. One of more than 800 lots in this sale, the pair carries an estimate of £1,000-£1,500.
