Every year throughout Ireland, the following issues become the only issue for thousands of people. This year it could be you.
I am Ciaran Goulding and I am standing for the rights of people with disabilities. I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and I know exactly how priorities can change suddenly.
Human Rights are usually seen in the context of those imprisoned or tortured, but in Ireland today, people with disabilities feel locked out of mainstream Society and deprived of their rights. I want equal access to all aspects of Society to be seen as a basic right. This means equal access to transport, education and career opportunities. For the carers, I want acknowledgement of their vital role and full support through allowances and adequate respite care.
Can you remember who you voted for in the last elections and why?
This time, use your vote to make a real difference.
