It's a busy time for job-changing in the music profession, writes Michael Dervan. The Music Network's chief executive, Niall Doyle, is moving to RTE as the station's new director of music. His post has been advertised and is expected to be filled soon after his move in July. The Network's Information and PR Manager, Ann Swift, is leaving to become Fund-Raising Manager with Focus Ireland. To fill her place as PR Manager, Opera Theatre Company's administrator, Assumpta Lawless, moves from the heart of Temple Bar to Dublin Castle and her PR duties within OTC will be taken up by Jan Duffy.

Meanwhile, Dermot McLaughlin's promotion within the Arts Council to the new post of Artform Director leaves a vacancy, already advertised, for the influential post of Music Officer. And within RTE's music department, the Public Relations/Promotions assistant for the orchestras and performing groups, Eleanor Collier, has secured the new post of Public Relations/Promotions executive for radio. Until Niall Doyle arrives in RTE, her old position is being filled on a temporary basis by Niamh Ellis.
