THOMAS P Adams & Co will be holding an auction of some 500 lots on its premises in Blackrock, Co Dublin, next Tuesday, with the first of the day's two sessions starting at 11 a.m. Among the mixture of furniture, plate and books, the core of what is on offer - some 120 lots - all comes from the same property on Elgin Road. Included are a George III mahogany, bureau bookcase, with typical glazed upper doors (estimate £1,800-£2,200) and an 18th century Irish mahogany longcase clock by John Dalton of Dublin (£2,200-£2,600).
Also on offer is a satinwood, circular, pedestal dining table (£2,500-£3,500). Other note worthy items: a Victorian two door mahogany bookcase (£300-£500); a George IV mahogany linen press, some seven feet high (£800-£1,200); and three Vietorian, arched giltwood overmantles (£300-£500, £600-£800 and £800-£1,200 respectively).
