The heading "20% of college applicants opt for paid employment" and part of the first paragraph of the report in yesterday's editions were incorrect. It is thought that 20 per cent of the 15,000 who rejected offers of college places have opted for jobs, not 20 cent of those who applied for college places. The error occurred in the editing process.
