The headline on yesterday's front-page lead story gave an inaccurate impression that workers are to get a 3 per cent pay rise under the terms of the PPF agreement negotiated on Monday night between the Government and the social partners. In fact, they will receive a 2 per cent increase from April 6th, 2001, and a once-off 1 per cent lump-sum payment a year later.
In Vincent Browne's column of November 29th it was stated that George Colley resigned from Charles Haughey's 1982 government. In fact, Mr Colley was not a member of that government. He was Tanaiste and minister for energy in Mr Haughey's first government, from 1979 to 1981.
The inscription on the millennium bell that a Dingle jeweller, Mr Brian Stack, will present to the Pope today was incorrect in yesterday's "Southern Report". It should have read Moladh go deo le Dia
In a picture caption on November 29th, Mr Tomas O Monachain of Gweedore was described incorrectly as a client of Mr Michael Gillespie, a solicitor. In fact, Mr Gillespie acts for Coiste Timpeallachta Ghaoth Dobhair, a residents' group in Gweedore.
A wrong telephone number was published in yesterday's EL for Teen Between, the support service run by Marriage and Relationship Counselling Service for teenagers whose parents are splitting up. It should have been (01) 6799341.
