In the listing of public companies in Business '98 last Friday, the name of the chief executive of Minmet plc was incorrect. It should have been Mr Jeremy Metcalfe.

The editorial headed "Protecting our children" in last Saturday's editions referred to a treatment programme for teenage sex offenders in Dublin, run by professionals from three bodies. The bodies are the Children's Hospital in Temple Street, the Eastern Health Board and the Mater Hospital - the latter was omitted from the editorial. The other hospital mentioned, Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children, Crumlin, runs a separate, funded, treatment programme.

An article in last Saturday's editions said President Mandela had raised the issue of East Timor with President Suharto at last year's APEC Summit in Vancouver. In fact it was President Clinton who raised the issue.

Where errors occur it is the policy of The Irish Times to correct or clarify as soon as practicable.
