A feature article on the recent local elections, published on June 19th, stated that Mr Sean Crowe (Sinn Fein) had missed a seat in the 1997 general election by 200 votes. This was based on his party's claim that, had it taken 200 votes from Labour, the order of elimination would have changed and transfers could have elected Mr Crowe to the last seat. However, the Labour candidate in that 1997 election, Mr Eamonn Walsh, has pointed out that, with 5,460 votes on the 7th count, he was the "runner-up" to the five people elected while Mr Crowe was eliminated with 4,556 votes on the 6th count.
