A report in yesterday's editions said Mgr Diarmuid Martin was to be consecrated as Bishop of Glendalough. This should have read Titular Bishop of Glendalough. He will remain in Rome as Secretary of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace.
There were two figures in error in the Vincent Browne column about Irish Life in the editions of November 11th. The article stated that the company's average premium in 1994 was £363 per month; this should have read £63 per month. The article also stated that Irish Life had generated additional commission of £3,486,864 through alleged churning of policies; the figure should have read £486,864. The errors, which are regretted, occurred in the electronic transmission of the column.
Where errors occur it is the policy of The Irish Times to correct or clarify as soon as practicable.
