In How the Parties Stand in Monday's editions, the Democratic Left panel said the party would levy a 56 per cent tax on windfall profits from land-rezoning to help fund the construction of 7,000 social housing units per year. A spokeswoman for the party states that in fact the 56 per cent windfall tax would be channelled back into the local community, and the commitment to housing is a stand-alone policy.
