MEANWHILE, the Federation of Irish Film Societies will celebrate the centenary tomorrow week with a range of international cinema represented at many of the locations where societies are based. Triskelodeon in Cork will present a very attractive all day programme of Luis Bunuel films beginning at 2 p.m. with The Discreet Charm Of The Bourgeoisie, followed at 4 p.m. by That Obscure Object Of Desire and at 8 p.m. by a double bill of Belle De Jour and Un Chien Andalou.
Both the Kilkenny and Wexford societies will screen Ingmar Bergman's great Fanny And Alexander. And Galway Film Society gets into a party mood with Some Like It Hot, a jazz hand and fancy dress. Venue by venue, the other screenings are.

Castlebar - Au Revoir Les Enfants, as a tribute to its director, Louis Malle, who died last year
Roscrea-Birr - Katzelmacher, an early (1969) film directed by and starring Rainer Werner Fassbinder
Sligo - Paolo and Vittorio Taviani's finest film, Padre Padrone
Tralee - the mouth watering Babette's Feast
University of Limerick - Powell and Pressburger's satirical The Life And Death Of Colonel Blimp.
