Irish musician Adrian Crowley is celebrating after signing with Glasgow label Chemikal Underground, home to such bands as Mogwai. Crowley was contacted by the indie label after releasing his critically acclaimed fifth album, Season of the Sparks, earlier this year.

His deal entails the release of Season of the Sparksin the UK in November, with a tour to coincide. It will also be rereleased in Ireland at the same time, with an international circulation plan to follow.

Crowley told The Ticket that he has been a big fan of the label for the past decade, and was relishing the prospect of unleashing his music on a larger audience.

“It’s great to feel that somehow, after years of blind faith and probably stubborn determination, I find a new door opening that means now that my music finds its way to all the territories in the world. At a time when record companies are generally less willing to sign new artists, it’s pretty remarkable.”
