DAVID MORALES
2 Worlds Collide Ultra
**
In the 10 years since David Morales last released a studio album, he has metamorphosised into one of dance music's most acclaimed superstar DJs, an in-demand loadsamoney remixer and the man who has done as much for vest-wearers as Tony Soprano. However, it's doubtful if 2 Worlds Collide will add significantly to either his reputation or bank balance. A collection of collaborations to showcase various singers who Morales has uncovered, the album contains more displaced drama and questionable histrionics than a night out with Elton John. His finds can certainly sing - Lea Lorien in particular has considerable vocal range - but the material fails them every time. For all their stabs at soul, the likes of How Would U Feel and Take My Luv never get off the ground. Hit potential is negligible, but ad agencies will relish this bland pop-house. www.defmix.com
