My three favourite places are:
1 The village of Adare has a specialness and gives you a sense of being well away from it all. When there, you feel like you have moved back in time because most of the restaurants and pubs are housed in thatched cottages and it is all so nicely kept.
2 Walking along the Shannon, starting just five minutes from Limerick city centre. You can get there by going over the "new bridge" in Limerick and down the Dock Road. It's a narrow riverbank walk that leads you past a nature reserve and out into the countryside.
3 Cruises Street in Limerick city centre. When I was growing up in the city, Cruises Street was a great place to go for socialising. Now, I love it for shopping. In times gone by, Cruises Hotel used to be a great meeting place.

13 degrees Celsius (55 Fahrenheit)was the average temperature at Dublin Airport in June, to which thousands of holidaymakers flying to warmer climes will testify.
